About Take Off

Take Off is team of surf enthusiasts, experience surf instructors and photographers, obsessed with The Ocean and willing to share this lifestyle. Take Off was founded around 12 years ago in St.Petersburg as a kitesurfing and yachting club. Later we grew up and now Take Off has branches in Indonesia (Bali), Russia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Spain, also arranging surf trips to Portugal, Philippines, Maldives and other surf destinations. Bali branсh is operating since 2010 and has already taught more than 3000 people how to surf. We know the island and will always recommend you the best in here.

We are located in Seminyak, Bali. It's one of the most popular touristic areas of the island with great infrastructure, but it's yet not so crowded. We are the only surf school in our area (Oberoi) which means that there are almost no people in the ocean and on the beaches where we teach, especially comparing for example with Kuta area, filled with surf schools. Surf Club is equipped with lockers for your belongings, swimming pool, shower and towels, TV & Playstation, Wi-Fi, beverages, different games and other staff for your comfort and fun.

We do surf teaching from beginner to intermediate level, arrange surf trips around Indonesia for advanced and experienced surfers (Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Jawa and another islands) on request and also do surf tours around the world. We offer small group classes (up to 2-3 ppl per instructor) and individual lessons, surf trips to different Bali spots and surf guiding.

About Surf Lessons

• Each lesson lasts for 2.5 - 3 hours: theory + 2 hours practice in water + mistake analysis based on photos from lesson
• Beginners to advanced level
• Small groups, 2-3 ppl for 1 instructor (based on wave conditions and students' experience)
• Including all needed equipment, clothes, drinks, sunblock, transfer to surf spot (if needeed). You only need your own swimsuit!
• Transfer from your hotel to Surf Club with booking for 2+ people (or Individual lesson)
• We teach kids from 5 y.o. Kids under 12 gets personal assisting insctructor

If you are a beginner, we will start from the "white foam" waves, that breaks not far from the beach and let you get a lot of rides. We will learn and practice basic technics of take off (standing up on the board), right surfing stand, paddling and simple turns. After you get it right, we process to the next step - "line up" or riding the green wave more far in the ocean. Usually regular student needs 3 white foam classes before line up, but it's individually and instructor decides for each student personally.

Each next "line up" session you will learn something new about The Ocean and waves and practice your take off, wave riding, turns and paddling. We check wave conditions and forecast and chose the best surf spot for your level.
